Freedom-Rich Business Design
Structure your business to support the life you want to live.
Imagine enjoying summers at the lake with your family while still running a successful business. It’s not an impossible dream!
A client recently asked “How do I do this without essentially closing down my business for two months each year and having two months without income?”
By implementing the following five strategies, you can structure your business to support the life you want to live. Let’s dive in and explore actionable steps to make it happen.
Create a Clear Vision: To design a freedom-rich business, clarity is key. Take the time to define what you truly want your life and business to look like.
This vision will serve as your compass, guiding your decisions and ensuring each step you take aligns with your desired outcome.
Remember to consider your summer break when making choices, applying leverage, and structuring your plans.
My ex and I invested in a franchise years back that derailed our summer camping plans. We learned this lesson the hard way.
Embrace Passive Income and Cash Infusions: During the summer months, focus your marketing efforts on hands-off, self-paced programs and information products. This could include your own offerings or those of respected experts (as an affiliate).
Additionally, consider hosting a sale to generate a cash influx a couple of times a year. Be mindful not to devalue your work by using this strategy sparingly.
My favorite way to do this is a ‘pick your price’ strategy. I have a case study and how to coming in a future story.
Implement a Master Marketing Calendar: Avoid the frustration of a cash flow roller coaster by adopting a well-planned approach to making money. Successful entrepreneurs create a solid plan based on proven strategies and work that plan consistently.
Imagine knowing exactly what you’ll focus on for promotion and profit each week, month, and beyond. Plan your product launches and programs accordingly.
I’m a big fan of planning my quarters for each year. What I’ll be promoting influences the content I’ll be creating along with any CTA’s (calls to action) that would be referenced.
Set Expectations for Your Ideal Clients: Make it known that your business revolves around your desired summer lifestyle.
Use your email newsletter to keep your community informed of upcoming events, program openings and closures, holidays, and speaking engagements.
Creating a dedicated events calendar page on your website can also provide transparency and help manage your clients’ expectations.
Leverage Technology and Team: Your business doesn’t have to take a vacation when you do. With the right planning, you can continue generating income even while relaxing on the beach.
Leverage technology by automating your marketing communications using an autoresponder sequence for new subscribers, existing subscribers, and affiliates.
Stay visible through social media and your blog by scheduling posts in advance. If needed, expand your team by delegating tasks to a virtual assistant or hiring one temporarily to keep things running smoothly.
Final thoughts:
By implementing these strategies, you can create the freedom and space you desire in your life without sacrificing business growth. Remember the power of purposeful planning and crystal clarity in guiding your decisions.
Identify the strategy that will make the biggest difference for you and schedule time in your calendar right now to implement it. Be SMART about it (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound).
